Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is used
extensively every day and everywhere. The
public transit system has been increasing
rapidly such as buses because of the growing
population. The population growth has
resulted in a rapidly expanding
transportation infrastructure. The passengers
must be aware of the precise position and
arrival time of each bus at each station before
they can schedule their travel from the closest
bus stop. The paper demonstrates the design
and development of an IOT for Vehicle fuel
activities such as real-time fuel monitoring
and bus tracking using GPS. The proposed
IoT device measures the amount of fuel by
using an ultrasonic fuel sensor. The main
issue that the majority of bus companies are
trying to address is fuel monitoring. Another
issue is that some students choose to skip class
rather than take the campus buses. In case
the student goes missing, it is challenging to
guess whether the student went missing after
entering the college campus or whether the
student did not board the bus in the first
place. The implementation results illustrate
the students to identify the locations of the
college buses; the attendance module helps in
reducing the absence of classes.
