Nurses Experiences of Care for Patients with COVID -19 in Bangladesh

Abstract

Background: This study aimed to identify nurses’ experiences of care for patients with COVID -19. Their experiences will be useful to ascertain a safer healthcare system in preparation for communicable disease outbreaks. Methods: Data were collected through in-depth individual interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi’s phenomenological method. Participants were 20 nurses. Results: Nurses’ experiences of taking care of patients with COVID-19 (Corona Virus) were categorized as follows: “Going into a dangerous field”, “Strong pressure from organization owing to COVID-19 (Corona Virus),” “The strength that make me endure,” “Growth as a nurse,” and “Remaining task.” Conclusion: It is necessary to look at the difficulties and demands of healthcare providers for establishing a secure healthcare system so that they come back effectively when national disasters occur. Additionally, it is necessary to develop strategies to safeguard healthcare providers from severe physical and psychological stress.
