Abstract

Matoa fruit peels extract and red fruit juice has antibacterial activity against bacterial acne. The availability of peel-off masks is selected in formulations to make them easier to use and to provide a better release of active substances. The study aims to determine the physical quality and antibacterial activity of the peel-off gel mask anti-acne combination of matoa fruit peels extract and red fruit juice. The results of this study indicate that the availability of a peel-off gel mask anti-acne combination of matoa fruit peels extract (Pometia pinnata Forst) and red fruit juice (Pandanus conoideus Lamk.) of 5 formulas produces a peel-off gel mask that meets the requirements of the organoleptic test, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesion, and drying time. The research result showed that the peel-off gel mask anti-acne combination of matoa fruit peels extract and red fruit juice inhibited the growth of S. aureus and S. epidermidis at least concentration 0.05% : 1% (F1) with inhibition zone diameter of 11.68 mm dan 13.19 mm, respectively. The least significant difference test showed there was no different inhibition zone in each concentration of the peel-off gel mask antiacne combination of matoa fruit peels extract and red fruit juice against S. aureus dan S. epidermidis.
