Abstract

The water supplied for use to the consumers by the water supply authorities should bear the prescribed standards in quality. Impure water when consumed by people can hurt their health. Dependence of water quality monitoring only at the terminal point is not sufficient when the event is considered in totality. The safety of the water system can be safeguarded by making use of the risk evaluation and control approach that encloses the steps contemplated for water quality from catchment to the end-user. A real-time water monitoring system checks the water quality regularly to determine whether they meet the standard level or not. This system mainly checks two factors that determine the quality of water. They are pH level and turbidity. The indicated value of these factors is sent to a mobile phone via an app known as MQTT Dashboard. According to the standard levels set by the Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organization (CPHEEO), pH level and turbidity can be altered automatically. This system automates the water quality testing process without the need for an operator.
