Sustainable Development as a North to North Development Agenda

Abstract

Sustainable development has become a panacea for all the emerging crisis of the world. It has become an integral part of the intentional development agenda. Unfortunately, the Western leaders have recognized it as the term that can be used to create and reestablish their hegemonic power over the world. Hence it has become an eye-catching phrase used by the global north to strengthen their power by hindering their offenders’ agenda of sustainable development. This study reviews the existing literature on sustainable development and fake hands of global north towards the global south in relation to sustainable development to understand how the global north has created a glorified plan for the global south. Literature highlights that every country has to have its own agenda to be sustainable and to create ‘a sustainable goal’.
