Abstract

Projects are getting much more complicated in today's technologically advanced environment, and managers frequently struggle to keep the project moving at the right speed. A key component of lean methodologies, visual project management (VPM) enables project management (PM) operations to be completed quickly and effectively. Project difficulties and complexity are increasing due to various unanticipated factors, such as workplace accidents, environmental repercussions, rising material costs, and so forth. Failure to adequately regulate and monitor both internal and external events can occasionally result in the project failing. With the use of a literature review and an understanding of the role that visual tools and elements play in project control, this article seeks to shed light on the visual project management approaches used in a variety of projects. This study's first section focuses on a thorough examination of the literature on the roles, resources, components, and state of visual project management today. By integrating information, giving elements, tools, and sensory aids into different project work environments, visual management contributes to managerial strategy support, according to the literature review. The analysis is carried out using a case study as an illustration. The findings of this article, which focus on the prominence of visual management in the current project characteristics, are then revealed through a qualitative analysis of a case project. The analysis and discussion explored the expectation of visual management and identified any findings that conflict with or add to the body of prior literature. However, the overall goal of the research is to enhance project performance and effectiveness while removing threats and uncertainties and managing the project using VPM philosophies.
