Abstract

The objectives of this study are to: 1) test and analyze the effects of competence and motivation on employee performance; 2) test and analyze the effects of competence and motivation on work satisfaction; 3) test and analyze the effects of job satisfaction and employee performance; and 4) test and analyze the effects of competence and motivation on employee performance through With a sample size of 99 participants, the study was carried out at the Office of the Section Dalops, Sub-Department of Transportation, East Jakarta City Administration. Simple random sampling was utilized as the sample method, and path analysis was performed to analyze the data.

The findings revealed that: 1) competence has an impact on employee performance; 2) motivation has an impact on employee performance; 3) competence has an impact on job satisfaction; 4) motivation has an impact on job satisfaction; 5) job satisfaction has an impact on employee performance; and 6) competence and motivation have no impact on employee performance as measured by employee job satisfaction at the Dalops Section Office.
