The process of growing plants in a nutrient-based solution wherein plants are cultivated without soil, this method is called hydroponics. Compared to traditional soil-based cultivation, hydroponics offers numerous advantages like increased quantity and quality of production (in less space), efficient use of fertilizers and efficient use of water and easier pest and disease management. However, manual hydroponics poses significant challenges to growers, requiring precision, patience, and regular monitoring. This study suggests a hydroponics monitoring system that is automated to deal with these problems. The system incorporates various sensors, including a pH sensor, a water level and temperature sensor, a light sensor, and an Arduino Uno microcontroller serving as the main control unit. Its primary objective is to overcome the limitations of manual hydroponics by providing real-time monitoring and control. This enables growers to make more precise adjustments based on accurate data, reducing the labor-intensive nature of the process. By integrating automation into hydroponic systems, growers can enhance productivity, optimize resource usage, and streamline the cultivation process, resulting in improved yields and overall efficiency. Overall, this research contributes to the advancement of hydroponics technology by presenting a practical solution for automated monitoring and control and the findings provide a foundation for the development of more sophisticated automated systems in the future, enabling sustainable and efficient agricultural practices.
