Abstract

The engineering design of storage containers used for radiation control represents the oldest preventive measure used by developed countries to control the non-proliferation of radiation, chemicals and hazardous waste through the design of thick engineering containers or concrete or steel containers designed in an elaborate engineering way to accurately control the activity and radiation energy. Radiation protection is the science of protecting humans from the effects of ionizing radiation, whether they are elementary particles such as protons and neutrons or high-energy electromagnetic radiation such as X-rays and gamma rays. The results of science that combines physical engineering and engineering design have been focused on globally agreed instructions and commandments and each country puts them within its laws for the purpose of radiation protection.
