EV Battery Charging Using Solar Energy

Abstract

Solar panels are used in battery charging applications in home inverter systems due to the load shedding faced in developing countries. This project works to maximize the use of solar energy by charging the battery also by supplying it to the loads when required. This system is implemented using two subsystems; the first is a charge controller and the second is a Power Flow Management System. The charge controller is used to control the overpowering flow from the solar panel to the battery by operating in two modes. The MPPT extracts maximum power from the solar panel and the voltage control mode prevents overcharging of the battery.
