Abstract

Recently the whole world has facing the pandemic disease Covid-19 and its ill-effects. Mucormycosis is found to be one of the fatal infections caused after Covid-19 infections. Even after active management, Mucormycosis remains a prodigious violent fungal infection, with extremely high mortality rates. Conditions like suppressed immunity due to various causes like surgery, leukemia, hematopoietic cell and organ transplantation, diabetic ketoacidosis, neutropenia and elevation in serum levels and even Covid -19. Regardless of the recent overview of treatment aids like posaconazole and liposomal amphotericin B (LAmB), amphotericin B deoxycholate (AmB) isavuconazole against mucormycosis and destructive therapy it is challenging to control the mortality rate due to this infectious disease. Development of novel therapies and treatment strategies has become an urge to control mucormycosis under control.
