Abstract

The growing use of Internet of Things (IoT)
technologies has transformed the agricultural
sector, offering increased production,
resource efficiency, and sustainable farming
methods. To ensure the security and
effectiveness of IoT-enabled agricultural
systems, this shift also raises a few security
issues that must be resolved. This study
examines the many security risks that IoTdriven agriculture faces, including malware
attacks, physical tampering, illegal access,
and data breaches. We examine the possible
effects of these risks on agricultural
production, livestock health, and overall farm
operations through a thorough literature
analysis. We put up several solutions to
address these issues, including strict
authentication and access rules, encryption,
frequent updates, and secure communication
protocols. Despite the advantages that IoT
provides to contemporary farming, there are
implementation obstacles that must be
overcome, including limited resources,
technological knowledge, worries about data
privacy, and regulatory compliance. We offer
best practices and recommendations for
farmers and agricultural stakeholders to
effectively improve the security of their IoT
systems in light of these challenges. This
article offers insights that enable the
agricultural community to expand securely
and confidently in the IoT-driven era by
examining real-world case studies of
successful IoT security implementations in
agriculture.
