Abstract

Water is essential for life. All living things rely on it and it is crucial that we replenish our supply several times a day. With water covering 71% of the Earth's surface, one would think every person should have stress-free access to water, but it is randomly distributed. Per capita availability of water is falling day by day on account of rapid urbanization, industrialization and population growth. We must control wastage of water and conserve in every possible way. The study aim to assess the knowledge level of community people and evaluate the effectiveness of SIM on rain water harvesting in selected villages of Udaipur. Evaluative approach with pre experimental design was used to assess the knowledge among 60 community people by administering structured knowledge questionnaires. Study revealed that community people had inadequate knowledge regarding rain water harvesting and effectiveness of self instruction module was successfully implemented to attain adequate knowledge among community people.
