Abstract

Recently, a wide and rapid spread of the use of medicinal plants has been observed in the prevention. Treatment of common diseases, due to their safety and effectiveness and many of them has been used in the manufacture of various pharmaceutical compounds because they contain many active elements and compounds. Among these plants is the cress plant Lepidium sativum, cress has properties. It is pharmacologically similar to the properties of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as it is analgesic, antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and others. Cress seeds are a rich source of protein, dietary fiber, minerals, vitamins and essential amino acids. They also contain Phytochemicals and Phytosterols that are known for their effect in preventing cancer and preventing its development and helping to lower cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.
