Abstract

Human brain is the control center and complex organ of the human nervous system. Tumor in
brain is a swelling, enlargement or abnormal growth of issues. MRI (Magnetic Resonance
Imaging), CT (Computed Tomography) is a visualization medical technique, which provides
plentiful information about the human soft tissue, which helps in the diagnosis of brain
tumor. Brain tumor detection procedure is a complex problem in medical field. The algorithm
involves pre‐processing, image segmentation, feature extraction and image classification.
This paper provides a brief review on various in segmentation techniques. This will help the
researchers to enhance their research in biomedical image processing.
