to analyse the resource use efficiency in layer production of poultry farming in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu. The present study based on primary sources of information collected from sample survey methods. There are two stages of sampling procedure has been adopted in this study. The sample size represents about 8 per cent of the total population and 32 small, 38 medium and 30 large size layer farms have been selected. The main objective of the study are to analyse the resource use efficiency in layer production of poultry farming in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu. Cobb-Douglas production function has been adopted for the present study of resource use efficiency in layer production of poultry farming. The study concluded that the layer farming is economically efficient and commercially a profitable venture. The socio economic factors are influencing the economic efficiency of the farmers and to increase the technological efficiency of the farmers of medium and large size farms.
