Abstract

We outline the concept and development of a magical fan in this paper. The Propeller LED Message Display functions on the persistence of vision, an optical phenomenon that works in the background to recreate a string of visual images in a motion picture. Most contemporary display grids make extensive use of LEDs, which consumes a lot of electricity. To reduce the number of LEDs, the current approach makes use of virtual grids. Virtual grids can be made by lining up eight LEDs in a row on a propeller. Rapid rotation of the propeller creates virtual grids for displaying short messages that can be used as a display tool in marketing and advertising campaigns. Compared to conventional dot-matrix panels, the POV display consumes less electricity. The work displayed here is a mini-project completed by second-semester students in the electronics and communication engineering programme at Bangalore's Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering.
