Abstract

The location of fault on a power distribution line is a complicated and causes severe problems in power system. This project deals with an Arduino based Electric Distribution system for the purpose of effective monitoring and sending information of distribution system. It is useful for remote monitoring and control of distribution line. In normal conditions, the system periodically records and reports the overall performances. Whereas, in case of abnormal conditions it immediately informs to operator above the discontinuity of the supply. However, for more flexible and cost-effective implementation, the remote communications are based on a powerful GSM networking is designed such that when the supply has gone out, an immediate indication is provided by the Arduino to the GSM modem. This is designed with Arduino interfaced with GSM modem. The interfaced GSM modem will receive the signal from the Arduino and sends data from cut off region side to patrol staffs that are far away from the region.
