Abstract

The engineering design process consists of a set of systematic steps that engineers use in designing batteries of all kinds like energy storage batteries and operating batteries of several types for different engineering like medical, laboratory and various devices. A battery is a device containing of one or more electrochemical cells with the external connections to power electrical devices such as light bulbs, cell phones and electric cars. When the battery deliver electrical energy then its positive terminal is called cathode and the negative terminal is called anode. The negative terminal is the source of electrons that will flow through an external circuit to the positive terminal. When a battery is linked to an external electrical load the redox reaction adapts the high-energy reactants into low-energy products and the free energy difference is delivered to the external circuit as electrical energy. Historically, the word "Battery" specifically referred to a multi-cell device that usage has developed to include single-cell devices.
