Automatic Bill Generating Energy Meter

Abstract

Electricity is the basic needs of our life. We can’t imagine one moment of our life without electricity. In this paper, we have designed automatic electricity bill generation system. This proposed model reduces the work of the person to come to each and every house and calculate the power consumption. In the previous methods we have a problem that sometimes the persons belonging to their respective houses may not be present at the time of handover of the bill. So, that the bill distributor has to come for a number of times to hand over the bill or the bill may get missed. But through the proposed method the bill will be generated beside the meter itself. The meter can also be placed inside the house and the bill can be taken at any time. By using this method, we can save the time of the electrician to come to each and every house. We have also made a case study with different tariff plans for the electric energy consumed. The whole system is controlled by the PIC microcontroller (version is PIC16F877A).
