Does Agricultural Credit Play Any Role in Boosting Agricultural Production in Bangladesh?

Abstract

Bangladesh is an agricultural nation where the development of the economy depends heavily on the agriculture sector. Therefore, the growth of the agricultural sector can help Bangladesh's economy. While there are many other strategies for advancing the agricultural sector, credit can be crucial in motivating farmers to adopt new technologies. The farm sector needs extra care due to Covid 19 epidemic to ensure smooth agriculture production. Different reference schemes are offered by the Bangladesh government and Bangladesh Bank to make credit accessible to all farmers. There aren't many studies in Bangladesh that talk about how important credit is for boosting agricultural output. In this study, we use time series data to determine how banks affect agricultural production. Credit plays a significant influence in increasing agricultural productivity, according to both the data analysis and the empirical study.
