Abstract

Recently, in many engineering calculations android applications are used vastly for ease of operation and time-saving.  In many engineering applications, devices such as boilers, nozzles, turbines, compressors and condensers are operated under first-law thermodynamics at steady flow process conditions. The constant flow energy equation states that the total amount of energy entering and leaving a system must be equal. So to solve the problems related to a steady flow energy equation there are many applications, but these applications have some drawbacks and complexities and are time-consuming like EES (Engineering Equation Solver). So we decided to make an android application which will reduce these efforts and time. To make this Android application android studio software is used. While making this software rearrangement of the steady flow energy equation is done for all variables, then various formulas for applications such as boilers, nozzle, condenser, turbine and compressor are collected and also added basic formulas like the work done, enthalpy, velocity and heat supplied or rejected. As the Android application is finished, it is tested by having users solve a variety of questions based on the steady-state flow energy equation that is taken from engineering textbooks. From this application, we found that the application is reducing the complexity of calculations and time required.
