Solar Water Purifier Using Graphene Membrane

Abstract

In recent times, RO water purification system is
the most conventional way of purifying water, but
we never talk about the amount of electricity and
water wastage that occurs due to RO systems.
Moreover, in rural areas we don’t even have a
proper electricity supply because of which people
over there are unable to use RO and are left with
no other option but to boil water using LPG or
any other heating method for water purification.
We know that, boiling water has been a
traditional method for purifying water but using
fuel to boil water causes unnecessary energy
wastage which we can’t afford now as we know
that these fuels are getting exhausted at a very
fast pace and there is no guarantee that we will
have them in the coming future. So, the day fossil
fuels end people in rural areas will either start
cutting down trees as a fuel or they will be forced
to drink contaminated water which contains lots
of bacteria, viruses and protozoa which are
responsible for various diseases. Therefore, we
have come up with a solar water purification
system to solve the above issues specially to cut
down electricity and water wastage.
