For production of the physical model in layer by
layer manner directly from their CAD without
any tool, dies and fixture, rapid prototyping is
used. As compared to the traditional method it is
easier to produce complex shapes using rapid
prototyping. For reducing the design error RP is
very useful technology. Infill material
percentage, layer thickness, and orientation of
the specimens are varied in present study. In
comparison to other structure honeycomb
structure has obtained best results, so we used
this pattern. Variation in layer thickness is taken
as 0.1mm, 0.2mm, and 0.3mm. 00
, 450
, and 900 are
the variations for the orientation with respect to
the horizontal plane. Total 9 experiments are
selected form the 27 experiments of three
parameter with three different level by using L9
orthogonal array of the taguchi’s design of
experiment. For 0.1mm layer thickness, 60%
infill percentage and perpendicular orientation
for PLA material shows the best tensile strength.
