Abstract

Spectrum sensing is the key component of the
Cognitive radio Technology. However, detection is
compromised when a Cognitive Radio (CR) user
experiences deep shadowing or fading effects. To
more accurately identify primary users (PUs), we
allow CR users to collaborate by sharing their
information. The performance of co-operative
spectrum sensing is investigated in this project.
This is done by using energy detection for
improving the sending performance in channels
such as AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels.
Hard decision combining rule (OR rule & AND
rule) is performed at Fusion Center (FC) to make
the final decision about primary user present or not.
Probability of miss detection and probability of
false alarm are the terms which have assessed
through the performance.
