Abstract

Perishable Goods are materials viz. (food, medicine, and industrial raw materials) that can be degraded by the action of atmospheric parameters like air, water, and heat. Temperature and humidity are monitored simultaneously in the containers, trailers, and boxes containing perishable goods through the Perishable Goods remote monitoring system. The designed prototype responds if any of the parameters change beyond the prescribed threshold values and the compliance is guaranteed with the regulations. Public health can be ensured by avoiding food-borne diseases in which food safety is vital. The wastage of the food can be avoided and the freshness can be ensured if perishable products are monitored perfectly. Because of this, the good quality of the fruits can be maintained from fields to the shelf during transportation. Fruits can be monitored remotely during transportation from field to shelf in this scenario. This work developed a wireless sensor network for monitoring fruits during transportation and even after storage. In addition, the Internet of Things was used to monitor fruits remotely from any location.
