In satellite communication, small ground stations are designed to operate in communication with small cubic satellites orbiting in low Earth orbits (LEO), the altitude start from 320 km to 1100 km above the earth. This paper aims to develop and support research projects at the Institute of Space Research and Aerospace (ISRA). It is utilized to track and receive data from ISRASAT1 satellite, being developed at ISRA. After surveying a number of ground stations in a number of universities, the components of the ground station were chosen to obtain a ground station that receives and sends signals via the satellite, taking into account the selection of components at the lowest possible cost without affecting the quality of communication. The ground station consists of the antenna system including rotor interface, transceiver and terminal node controller (TNC), modem and the processing system.
