With the ever-increasing demand of electrical energy for several commercial and domestic purposes, the renewable sources continue to deplete. This leaves us with no other choice but to rely on renewable sources to fulfill our demands of electrical energy. The common sources are wind, solar and hydro, the most efficient being solar energy. Solar energy is the most abundant and reliable renewable sources. But that still fails to replace the renewable sources. Traditionally the solar panels are locked at one position and thus fail to completely convert the total solar energy received in that area to electrical energy. Our project attempts at increasing the efficiency of a regular solar panel, by constantly keeping it perpendicular to the sun rays. This project presents the outline and execution of simple, easy and cheaper automatic dual axis solar tracking system using Arduino UNO as the control element and light detecting sensors (LDRS) as the sensing element. Present paper describes the concept of latest technology in order to increase amount of energy by capturing maximum intensity of radiation of sun. The model is developed for increasing efficiency of solar panel. The model can rotate in all four directions with intensity of radiation for maximum conversion of energy from solar radiations.
