Abstract

This work is aimed at carrying out a design analysis of a pawpaw harvester using a beam deflection model. The objectives are to determine the machine component dimensions; design the various components that will makeup the pawpaw harvester. The gravitational force and magnitude of acceleration were determined as 98.1N and 3m/sec, the horizontal and vertical lifting forces were obtained as 256.2N and 512.4N respectively. The maximum allowed deflection of the telescope pole was obtained as 1.52m, and the sum of all the force as 981N. It was recommended that government agencies should finance the production of the harvester.
