Abstract

Educators play a vital role in shaping every student’s future all over the world. People say that being a teacher is a noble job because teachers are known to be selfless and willing to help their students in any way they can. Moreover, teachers were also forced to have 2 to 3 hours of overtime every day, and they also needed to report during weekends, holidays, and even during their yearly vacation time. But, despite all the good deeds that teachers have done for their students, the privileges they should have obtained from the government and school were not given them correctly. As a result of the volume of work they had to complete, their work-life balance was suffered.

This study explores the sociodemographic profile, work-life balance, and job satisfaction of the teachers in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija. In addition, the researchers want to determine if there is a significant relationship between these variables. The sample used in this study was 130 random teachers in San Jose City. In analyzing the data, the bivariate correlation was used to determine the association of work-life balance and job satisfaction with age, salary, and length of service. While point-biserial was used for gender and marital status, on the other hand, Pearson Moment Correlation was used to examine the relationship between work-life balance and job satisfaction. The results show that teachers possess an average work-life balance and a high level of job satisfaction. Second, socio-demographics have nothing to do with work-life balance except with age and marital status. Third, socio-demographics have nothing to do with teachers' job satisfaction. Lastly, work-life balance shows a significant relationship with job satisfaction for teachers. This concludes that having a work-life balance increases the job satisfaction of an employee, which a company should be working.
