The study gathered data from the NSE fact book and financial reports published by the sample quoted companies covering the period 2008 to 2020. The data were analyzed using the descriptive statistics, Panel Correlation Matrix and Ordinary Least Square. The dependent variable quality of financial reporting was measured using the Beneish M-score model while the independent variable audit committee characteristics was measured using audit committee members’ financial expertise, audit committee size, audit committee independence and number of audit committee meetings. The results the analysis provided evidence to show that audit committee members’ financial expertise and audit committee meetings have non-significant positive relationship with quality of financial reporting. Also, audit committee independence and audit committee size have negative relationship with quality of financial reporting. The study recommends that audit committee members of listed consumer sector firms should consist of the independent non-executive directors with sound accounting know-how.</p> Lyndon M. Therefore, they must concern about the factors which are affecting their performance. Many studies have been conducted by highlighting the financial factors that affect the performance of small and medium enterprises. Furniture industry is also embodied with number of small and medium enterprises around Sri Lanka. But still it is held the reputation in Moratuwa city. As an industry, small and medium enterprises are not sufficiently aware of non-financial factors which affect their performance and struggle to identify the impact of non-financial factors and how they could avoid the barriers from non-financial factors. Though the recent governments and regulatory bodies have designed policies and strategies to encourage small and medium enterprises by providing financial facilities, the information and the knowledge regarding non-financial factors are not sufficient. The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of non-financial factors on performance of Furniture industry in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. After a comprehensive literature review, Input constraints, Regulatory Constraints, Technology constraints, Infrastructure constraints and Threats of Substitute products are identified as the independent variables of the study. Data collection was done using a structured questionnaire with 30 questions of Likert scales from the selected sample of 100 Furniture small and medium enterprises located in Moratuwa area. The analysis was carried out performing tests on descriptive statistics, validity, reliability, correlation, and regression analyses, and it is empirically supported that there is a significant impact of input constraints and infrastructure constraints on performance of Furniture industry in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Organization change, which may or may not adhere to organizational development (OD) values and, in many cases, is not conducted through participatory methods. For the most part, downsizing via lowering costs and retrenching people has become synonymous with organizational change, causing fear among those who may be affected. Organizations are under increasing pressure to improve their abilities to increase employee support for change initiatives. Employees are critical to an organization’s efficiency and performance. Thus, it is crucial to look at change through the eyes of employees. If employees believe that the organizational change is not well conveyed to them, their motivation, satisfaction, and commitment is likely to be impaired, which could be counterproductive to the change process of the organization. As a result, it is important to figure out how the relationship between organizational change and employee motivation, satisfaction, and commitment, which is the purpose of this study. Since there is limited research on this phenomenon in the Sri Lankan context, this study aims to bridge the knowledge gap in the existing literature. To achieve the study’s objectives, a quantitative investigation was undertaken using positivist philosophy and the deductive approach. As a data collection approach, the survey questionnaire method was used. This study has a total sample size of thirty (whole employees of the selected organization). Survey data was analyzed using correlation analysis and descriptive analysis. Results clearly show that there is a significant positive relationship between organizational change and employee motivation, employee satisfaction and commitment in the ABC Shared Service Center in Sri Lanka. Further, the study reveals that employee satisfaction is the highest corelated dimension with the organizational change. Thus, the study conclude that organizational change is vital on employee motivation, employee satisfaction and employee commitment.</p> M A K U Madhuwanthi Jayasekara L. K. B. M.
