Intervention Bundle on Postoperative Thirst Intensity and Oral Condition among Patients Undergoing Abdominal Surgeries

Abstract

Postoperative thirst impairs sleep quality, produces severe distress, and consequently creates negative emotions like worry and irritability that lower quality of life and raise concerns among medical professionals. Thirst during the preoperative phase has the potential to cause discomfort and momentary impairment. The study's objective was to compare the effectiveness of utilizing normal saline with menthol to standard care in treating postoperative abdominal surgery patients' thirst and oral health.
