Experimental Studies on Solar Still

Abstract

In the present experimental work, an effort is made to increase the distillate production of solar still by the different heat storage materials. The distillate collected from simple solar still is compared with that of a solar still with glass pebbles and sand bed as a heat storage material. The experiments are conducted for simple solar still, solar still with sand bed, and solar still with glass pebbles for the constant water depth. The experimental study showed that water collection can be enhanced by using glass pebbles.
