Abstract

It is review paper on energy concepts and not on

energy statistics. India is a highly populated

country (next to China), ranks first in population

density (China possesses more land). High base

and dense populations pose many challenges to

India, in supply of energy, at low cost. India

ranks fifth in energy use. India suffers from

significant power shortage. In recent years,

energy consumption is faster due to rapid

population growth and economic development.

Energy supply challenge is high that led

shortages during year 2010-12 in Tamil Nadu. To

meet demand and safe-guard environment, India

invests more on renewable energy resources such

as wind and solar.
