Abstract

Natural gas is economically transported as liquid natural gas (LNG). The natural gas obtained from gas filed is liquefied at source country, and the LNG is transported by Dewar tanker ships to destiny countries. At receiving point, LNG is transferred to storage Dewar tanks. When fuel gas is needed, LNG is evaporated at required pressure for distribution. Sea water is used for regasification. LNG production consumes huge amount of electricity for liquefaction. This paper resides on the power production during LNG regasification. Direct expansion cycle optimized for 120kJ/kg is briefed in this paper.
