Effect of Welfare Intervention Program on Lifestyle of Pre-hypertensive Employees in Selected Industries

Abstract

The aim of study is to reduce hypertension by Intervention and maintain normal Blood Pressure. A Quasi Experimental One Group Pre-test Post- test design study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of Intervention on lifestyle of pre hypertensive employees in selected industries at Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu. The objective of the study is to assess a compare the level of lifestyle of pre hypertension employees in selected industries. After pretest of lifestyle, Intervention was given for a period of one weeks. It includes wellness coaching to the participants for a period of 12 hours in each industry. At the end of the 7thweek outcome measures on lifestyle level was measured with the participants. Among the selected 120 samples the Intervention was found to be effective in improving lifestyle. There was a highly significant difference between pretest and post test on lifestyle. The study concludes that Intervention was effective to maintain normal Blood Pressure. The published work is a part of Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University Chennai.
