Todd’s Syndrome or Alice in Wonderland syndrome (AiWS) is a very rare & uncommon disease condition that causes temporary episodes of distorted perception and disorientation. In this condition the patient may feel much larger or smaller than he or she actually is. The person suffering from this syndrome may actually feel that the furniture around him is nearer or closer to him than the actual place of it. Even some time they may feel that the ceiling of the room is also shifted down from its actual place. These various episodes aren’t hallucinations or the problems with the person’s eyes but they’re caused by changes in how the brain perceives the environment the person is in. This syndrome can affect multiple senses, including vision, touch, and hearing & also a sense of time. AiWS mainly affects children and young adults, but there are still chances that the person may experience this in adulthood.
