Monkey Pox: Epidemiology and its Prevention

Monkeypox is a zoonotic disease commonly seen in Africa. Outbreak in 2022 affected more than 70 countries. In India, 9 cases were confirmed by the 27th of July. Monkeypox is a viral infection commonly seen between 0-15 years which is transmitted by direct and indirect contact. PCR test helps for the early diagnosis of the disease. It can be treated with antipyretics and anti-Viral drugs. Active immunization and Isolation precautions prevent disease transmission.
