Barrier Nursing- An Effective Tool to Deal with Infectious Diseases: Review of Nipah Virus Outbreak in India

Barrier nursing is a highly effective infection control method. It consists of stringent infection control methods which if implemented properly can help in controlling highly infectious diseases and prevent epidemics. Nipah virus is a highly fatal zoonotic disease which has affected mainly Kerala in India in 2018. This review article discusses about the molecular structure, pathogenicity, transmission, of Nipah virus and how barrier nursing was used effectively in Kerala, a state with the highest literacy rate in India.
