Background: The heart is a vital organ in the body which circulates the blood to all the parts in the body by the pumping blood in it. Its function is important because to survive the tissues need a continuous supply of oxygen and nutrients and metabolic waste products have to be removed. While blood is the transport medium, the heart is the organ that keeps the blood moving through the vessels. The CPR is an artificial method of circulating blood and oxygen through the body and attempting to keep the brain alive if it initiated within 4 minutes of cardiac arrest, the survival rate is 43% when initiated within 4 to 8 minutes. Methods: An evaluative research approach with quasi- experimental Pretest and Posttest control group design adopted. The study includes 60 health care workers including staff nurses who were selected as sample by non probability purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted in Nirogdham Hospital, Aklera Rajasthan. Demographic data, structured knowledge and Structured Teaching Plan (STP) were implemented for data collection procedure. Pilot study was done for its clarity and feasibility on similar subject. To analyze the experimental data, statistical analysis was used. Demographic data of the health care workers were presented in graphs. Interpretation & conclusion: A quasi experimental study is used sample (n=60) consisted of health care workers from Nirogdham Hospital, Aklera Rajasthan. Convenient sampling technique was utilized for collection of study sample. In order to collect the data on knowledge, a structured knowledge questionnaire on CPR is carried out. Anonymity and confidentiality was maintained throughout study. The data gathered was analyzed and interpreted in terms of objectives at the end of study. In pretest, experimental group as well as control group health care workers are having on an average of 40% knowledge on CPR. 30% of the health workers are having previous exposure of cardio pulmonary resuscitation in experimental group, where as it is 40% in the control group. In post test, after implementation of STP experimental group HCW scored up to 80% where as in control group scored only 42.5% of knowledge regarding CPR settings.
