A Descriptive Study to Assess the Knowledge Regarding Coronavirus among Shopkeepers in Vaniyamkulam Grama Panchayath

Abstract

Coronavirus disease (COVID19) is an emerging infectious disease caused by a novel Coronavirus. Understanding shopkeepers regarding this new infectious disease is crucial to preventing and controlling it. This study was conducted to assess the knowledge regarding Coronavirus among shopkeepers. Aim of the study is to assess the knowledge regarding Coronavirus among shopkeepers. Quantitative research approach was adopted to assess the knowledge regarding Coronavirus. By using Non Probability Convenient Sampling technique, a total of 30 participants were selected. The results revealed that 5(16.6%) were having average knowledge, 25(83.3%) were having only good knowledge and also there was no association of demographic variables with knowledge on Coronavirus among shopkeepers. This study implies that there is a strong need to create awareness on Coronavirus.
