Evaluation of Anxiety Pattern among Healthcare Personnel at Sudan: A Descriptive Health Facility-Based Study

Abstract

Background: The medical personnel like others are exposed to the same risk factors that lead to anxiety, putting in mind that such a person may be inefficient in performing healthcare duties. Aim of study: To evaluate level of anxiety among healthcare personnel working at governmental hospital and health facilities. Study design: descriptive cross-sectional health facility-based study. Setting: this study conducted in Alhasaheesa, Sudan. Sample: Purposive sample included 208 medical personnel working at governmental hospital and health facilities. Tool of data collection: study conducted by using HAD scale. Results: According to HAD scale, 51.0% of the participants were normal while the remaining (49%) had variable levels of anxiety ranging from mild to severe The study found that all the significance correlation were reduced through HAD scale in all variables except a years of employment variable. Recommendation: Further studies with large sample size and variable working setting to explore the predictors contributing to variable degree of anxiety.
