Abstract

Interconnected power systems are constantly being analysed to make them more efficient in terms of loss minimization and efficiency. This needs the design of optimal approaches for nodal analysis for estimation of loss minimization which have been analysed thus far typically utilizing iterative methods. Different iterative methods rely on minimizing an objective function with an increasing number of iterations and they vary in terms of their accuracy and iterations to convergence. Recognize a method for load flow analysis in a radial distribution system, since, the distribution systems are generally formed in radial distribution patterns. This paper presents a theoretical background and literature review of iterative approaches for loss minimization in radial distribution systems to provide insight into contemporary approaches utilized for the purpose.
