One of the most often utilized components in
multi-story structures to withstand lateral
stresses brought on by earthquakes is shear
walls. This piece provides using STAAD-Pro,
multistory structures with and without shear
walls are modeled and examined. In the
structural dynamics lab, the prototype models
are also put to the test on a shaking table. A
comparison is made between the Shake table
and STAAD-Pro findings. The primary goals
of the study are to determine if the STAADPro
simulation is suitable for multistory
buildings with shear walls and to investigate
the seismic behaviour of shear walls in
multistorey structures. During the modeling
process, the Indian Standard Code IS
1893:2002, which describes the requirements
for the part 1 general provisions and
buildings of an earthquake-resistant design,
was adhered to. The displacements and storey
drift computed using STAAD-Pro and shake
table laboratory tests are compared. It has
been found that there is full agreement
between all of the findings. Therefore, it can
be concluded that the STAAD-Pro method
may be used to examine multi-story
structures.
