Performance of BFRC in Compressive and Split Tensile Strength

In this paper the performance of BFRC (Basalt
Fiber Reinforced Concrete) was tested for
compressive and split tensile strength of
concrete for M50 grade of concrete. The
comparison will be done with respect to above
properties with plain concrete mix. The basalt
fiber in the mix will be added to the percentage
of total weight of cement in the concrete mix
which will be increased by 0.5% starting with
0.5% to 3.5%. All the testing was carried as per
IS code. The result will then be correlated and
the optimum percentage of basalt fiber in
concrete will be determined based on the results
which will be for 7 days and 28 days. Basalt
fiber length is 25 mm.
