Historically the natural sand has been in use for the construction activities. The main source of natural sand has been river beds. Due to industrialization, the construction activities have increased tremendously; which has resulted in the increased demand of sand. Heavy consumption of sand has forced us to find way through sustainable practices. Common natural river sand becomes expensive every day because of a number of factors; the massive depletion of these sources generated environmental difficulties. These restrictions reduce the supply of sand, a substitute or alternative product for river sand has to be discovered. An artificial sand or synthetic sand may be an alternative material to sand, which preserves the natural resources of the building industry for sustainable growth.
