Corrosion Resistance of Steel by Using Natural Inhibitors

Abstract

Inhibitive action of the extracts of Phyllanthus amarus and Acalypha indica on the corrosion
of steel in epoxy resin has been studied using weight loss method, acid attack test, pull out
strength test, acceleration test. In 50ml of Phyllanthus amarus and Acalypha indica extract
and 25ml of epoxy resin are applied in coating of steel. The result from these
characterization shows that Phyllanthus amarus, Acalypha indica extracted in epoxy resin
exhibits better inhibition towards corrosion.
