Abstract

Road accidents are unpredictable, but the lives of the people involved in them can be out of danger if the emergency services with proper information about the accident location and medical care are provided in time. To provide an optimum solution for this problem this proposed work in this paper is concerned with the design and development of an integrated accident detection and emergency position indicating system for automobiles. The proposed automated system precisely detects the occurrence of an accident with the help of collision sensors and relays a distress message along with the accurate location of the accident spot through google map link information fetched with the help of NEO-6M GPS module and then sends it with the support of GSM 900A module and Arduino UNO controller. The proposed system is much useful to save people involved in accidents that occur in a deserted area where there is no witness to save the victim’s life. It also has a smart over-speed monitoring system to alert the driver for accident prevention. The advantage of the proposed system design is easy installation, efficient accident detection, no impact threshold calculation on the body of the vehicle for sensing collision, high reliability and reduces delay in sending the accident information. The system is successfully implemented and tested and is observed to be efficient and reliable.
