Abstract

Proposed work presents, method to classify human brain strokes using computed tomography (CT) images. Support Vector Machine (SVM) is used to learn the different statistical parameters as features of the CT images. The brain stroke is one of deadliest diseases. It is the major cause of death, after coronary heart disease, cancer and accidents. The classification rate of 93.33% is obtained for normal brain and in case of stroke affected brain images, it is found to be 85%. The overall classification rate obtained is 87.27%.
