An Efficient Approach for Edge Detection of Images: A Step beyond the Traditional Methodology

Abstract

In this paper, a novel edge detection method that computes edges of different images using the concept of Center of Mass with Prewitt Operator is presented. The proposed method can be used as a template for multi-scale edge detectors for processing different images. Here the edge detection by COM technique with Prewitt operator is compared with COM technique.
